Scandinavian Church in Malmo, Sweden. Notice, again, the brick
structure (and what are those?...look like buttresses) and copper green roof.
Almost too small to see is the white windmill in the "King's Park" of Malmo,
Sweden. It was a pretty cool (though not quite cold) morning, the day I took
a ferry from Copenhagen to Sweden (about a 45 minute trip). There is a new
bridge linking the two cities. I am sure you are wondering: yes I did get my
passport stamped while I was there. Oddly enough, when I arrived in Malmo,
Sweden I saw a young lady from Denmark who studied architecture at Cal Poly
last year (two gold stars if you could follow that).
Professional Photograph
The windmill mentioned before, but during winter. Don't worry Nonna, when I was in
Sweden there was not snow, it was all sunshine, until the sunset.
. .Took a picture as it was setting though...
Swedish Sunset: I was walking towards the place where I would met the ferry
to return to Copenhagen. I was in a park, that was supposed to be near the water
(but I could not see it). I wanted to see a housing development that was recommended
to me by Megan, but it was too far to walk. I decided to walk back to meet the
ferry and as I did, the sun began to set. I knew that If I used a flash to take
the picture it would turn out too dark. I tried to be really still while I took
the picture, but the shutter stayed open for a long time, and I knew that it
would turn out blurry. I placed the camera on a post and composed the picture
as I wanted, and set the timer, of course with the flash off. The picture turned
out, even more beautiful than I remember it. Oh, by the way I took the picture
at 4:15 in the afternoon.
During my trip to Sweden, I joined the German navy (on a whim) and served
aboard a certain German undersea boat as chief Engineer. One of my many
duties aboard ship was to ensure the proper firing of the diesel engines.
Towards the end of the day, I visited a Swedish Maritime Museum
and found this Submarine.
