New Years

The night before New Years, On my way to my Hostel, Brian, Katie, Kristine, Amy ____ and I passed by the Modern art Museum Pompadu. On the building were 1,000 drummers practicing for the new years celebration that would be held their the next night. there were drummers in, on and hanging from crane Booms near the building. It was a pretty awesome sight, and a real treat. Unfortunately, we arrived in time for only the last song.

Christine, Brian, and Myself, get in a picture before the rain started and the new Year fell upon us. I had come down with a cold that day and was feeling pretty bad. I slept most of the day (the folks at the hostel were mighty kind and left me stay and sleep even though the hostel was supposed to close. I drank lots of orange juice and ate bread, and lots of cough medicine. When I went out that night, I had on long underwear, a pair of jeans, with khakis and 6 layers and a scarf (of course a hat and gloves too. I was not cold at all, even though we had to walk about 40 minutes in a light rain back to Brian's Apartment.

New Years Night. We All took the Metro to from Brian's Apartment to the Champs-d'Elessay. From there we walked along the Seine and to the Eiffel Tower. To our surprise, the whole place was empty. We (as you can tell, walked right up to the tower. Brian and Amy, who had been there the year before, said that they could not even get close to the Champs d'Elesay, let alone the Eiffel tower. The tower is much more spectacular at night than it is in the day. From left to right are (With their backs to us) Amy, Brian, and Katie, and in the back right is Morgan.

Morgan and Josh at New Years, I seemed to have snapped a picture as a Fire Cracker was going off. There were no fireworks or count down, the whole thing was somewhat of a disappointment, however, I can forever say that I was the Eiffel tower to welcome the new millennium.

Brian and I on our way back to his apartment. The ugly hat I am wearing cost 10 francs, which is equal to about $1.65.

The Eiffel tower with rain drops and the white flashbulbs on the tower which make the tower look like it is sparkling.
