Livorno, Italy Livorno, Italy

My architecture has been assigned the redesign of this piazza in Livorno, Italy. Livorno is very close to Pisa, essentially Livorno acts as Pisa's port. This piazza, dating from the 19th century is very flat and uninteresting. Perhaps I shall propose the construction of a McDonalds and StarBucks in the square...Everything is better with a BigMac and a Frappacino (which, by the way does not mean anything in Italian).

The cool thing about the piazza is that it is built over a canal, so there are some possibilites for connecting the space to the water.

Be warned, Livorno is not as nice as this post card makes it out. I would not go as far as a Pisan and say that Livorno is "merda" (you can figure out what that means for yourself), but it is not quite as idealic as these picture make it looks.
